Senior Accountant

Job Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team onsite in Tampa, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in day-to-day accounting, experience collaborating with external auditors, and a proactive approach to process improvement. Public accounting experience is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger by recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual management, allocations, and financial data analysis.

Prepare and distribute daily and weekly financial reports and presentations for executive leadership to support informed decision-making.

Manage sales tax filings, capital expenditure tracking, margin audits, and monthly commission calculations to ensure regulatory compliance and financial accuracy.

Assist with accounts payable processes, including preparing wire transfers and managing supporting documentation for audits and internal reviews.

Collaborate across departments and provide guidance to staff accountants to improve financial processes, ensure data accuracy, and meet team objectives.

Support the Assistant Controller by aligning team efforts, monitoring progress, and contributing to workload balance and process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.

CPA nice to have.

Minimum 4 years experience in general accounting and cost accounting

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Great Plains).

Strong understanding of GAAP.

Analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.  Workstyle

5 days a week onsite in Tampa, FL
