Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in the general ledger close process, U.S. GAAP financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal control requirements. This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a mix of experience in a public accounting firm and in the industry working in a public company environment. The Accounting Manager will be adept at handling complex accounting tasks.
Responsibilities
Participate in and help lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to meet financial reporting deadlines, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and support compliance with external reporting requirements and related disclosures.
Ensure compliance with internal control over financial reporting requirements, including documentation, testing, and remediation of internal controls.
Assist with researching and documenting technical accounting issues and ensure proper application of accounting pronouncements and company policies.
Prepare schedules and provide support for internal and external audits.
Manage the Accounts Receivable function and collaborate closely with the Accounts Payable Manager to ensure smooth team operations.
Identify process improvement opportunities in General Ledger and other areas, document and execute process changes, and support project management.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as assigned by management.
Collaborate with other departments, such as FP&A, Operations, and Legal, to ensure accurate financial information and support business needs.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CPA designation or active pursuit is preferred.
Experience in a publicly traded company and / or public accounting firm (Big 4 or national firm preferred).
Experience managing people in accounting.
Experience with aerospace and / or manufacturing industry accounting.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Work Environment
This is a 100% onsite role, open to relocation or local candidates. The position reports to the corporate accounting team and works closely with the Accounts Payable Manager, Treasury Accountant, and GL Accountant. The goal for this role is to track the individual into an Assistant Controller position.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Cedar Park, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $145000.00 / yr. Adding benefits to draft role and have a copy of benefits package for FTE's for candidate review.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Cedar Park, TX.
