General Description :

Watertown Public Schools Office of Student Services seeks an exceptional Long-term Special Education Substitute Teacher who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers learners and leaders. Responsibilities :

• Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter instructional skills and resource materials for the course(s) taught.
• Creates lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
• Maintains a safe organized classroom that supports students independent learning collaboration and choice.
• Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
• Provides a variety of assessments and uses assessments for planning and instruction
• Provide consistent immediate feedback to student learning and ask analytical questions that elicit students responses that incorporate prior knowledge life experience and interests that are directly related to the content objective.
• Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school-wide behavior expectation in which most students are engaged incorporates mutual respect and provides cooperative learning opportunities.
• Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural economic and ability backgrounds.
• Encourage parent and community involvement obtain parental information when requested promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
• Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities sporting activities clubs and student organizations as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Breakdown :

Long-term substitutes will be retroactively paidupon completion of 30 Per Diem Days worked in the same Long-Term Substituteassignment. The amount will be the difference between the Per Diem Rate and theIndividual Contractual Rate Per Diem.
