Overview
This position will be responsible for maintenance / construction activities around high voltage (up to 345 kV) substations and transmission lines. This will require an extensive amount of travel throughout the US. This person must have a “safety first” attitude with an understanding of doing the job right the first time.
Responsibilities
- Working in and around wind turbines
- Ability to professionally interact with customers and coworkers on a daily basis
- Ability to perform maintenance / construction on electrical collection systems including underground cable faults, pad-mount transformers, switchgears, T-Bodies, Splices and Wind turbine wiring up to 34.5 kV
- Attend safety meetings and complete safety paperwork on a daily basis
- Demonstrate safety as a top priority
- Complete an inventory of material on a daily / weekly basis
- Diagnose and fix any problem that could cause the electrical system to be shut down unexpectedly or fail to operate properly
- Troubleshoot and / or test electrical components and systems.
- Service underground transmission systems, substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems
- Replace worn or malfunctioning components
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 2 (two) years’ experience working in the electrical industry, specifically for preventative maintenance or electrical degree / certificate and 1-year experienceValid Driver’s LicenseKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
