Structural Engineer

Job Details :

My client is a top notch CIVIL Consulting Engineering firm nationally. They are looking for a Structural Engineer for their Allentown office. The Structural Engineer position is for a design professional with 4+ years of experience. This individual will design a variety of structural building projects (owned by municipalities, school districts, utilities, housing authorities and private clients) and will report directly to the Department Manager.

PRIMARY DUTIES :

• Perform structural calculations and modelling for new and existing buildings, retaining walls, and other structures related to Buildings.
• Maintain strong technical knowledge of design techniques, procedures, regulations, materials, and specifications.
• Perform independent, complex engineering calculations and prepare construction plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Coordinate with a team to prepare technical reports and construction drawings.
• Periodically perform field inspections.
• Participate and support client meetings.
• Perform research in support of developing design solutions.
• Ideal candidate is an individual who is highly proactive, detail oriented, has good written and oral communication skills.
• Exercise good judgment in following standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related design tasks.
