General Overview :
A System Administrator is a professional who plays an important role in maintaining organizational policies to ensure integrity of computer systems. A system administrator ensures that technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently while meeting company requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Meeting with supervisor to discuss system needs / improvements.
- Managing Windows, Linux or Mac systems
- Troubleshooting operating system issues.
- Group policy and Active Directory management
- Training staff on newly deployed group policies and or software
- systems.
- Fixing hardware and software issues related to system admin.
- Managing / maintaining virtual environment
- Creating / managing / maintaining virtual machines / servers
- Managing / maintaining physical servers
- Backup and restore systems as needed
- Maintaining server rooms organized and clean
- Maintaining Monitoring systems (Zabbix, Graylog, etc.)
- Monitoring systems for failures
- Manage and support systems through MDM
- Manage and support endpoints / anti-virus software
- Manage and maintain inventory
- Managing system administrator related projects
- Creating / Maintaining documentation for Procedures, Policies and Forms
REQUIREMENTS : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fieldExperience and Skills :
In-depth knowledge of operating systems, Windows, Linux and MacStrong troubleshooting skillsGood network understanding.Familiarity with hardwareKnowledge about OS upgrade / downgradeCybersecurity sense.Strong data backup / recovery knowledgeStrong Group Policies management understandingScripting knowledgeGood project management understandingExcellent communication skillsPersonal Attributes :
High sense of urgency and responsivenessResponsible, dependable, and proactive in system managementSecurity Requirements :
