Job Description :
APEM, a global leader in man-machine interface devices is searching for a self-motivated, market-oriented and result-driven Product Marker to assist in the profitable growth, product line management, and new product development of the company's
joystick product lines. The position will be based at the Vista, CA facility, which is the largest producer of joysticks within APEM.
This position requires a basic understanding of electrical theory, and manufacturing technology as it relates to control devices, an understanding of the target markets, an understanding of customer applications, and the ability to track new business opportunities, while supporting the sales network.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide product support to the APEM sales force and APEM customers.
- Train the sales force – including direct APEM employees and independent reps.
- Work with marketing to develop sample kits and sales tools.
- Manage project schedules to ensure the timely completion of assignments.
- Track programs per the Custom Product Inquiry and APQP processes.
- Monitor KPIs such as revenue, margin and customer satisfaction.
- Work with the engineering and quality groups to evaluate the feasibility of new products and to complete the development on time, on budget, and on specification.
- Be a key figure in the roadmap proposal and support the business plan.
- Support product cost improvement, pricing tools and establish quotations.
- Maintain standard price lists and datasheet update.
- Visit customers for technical support, VOC and applications learning.
- Understand the industry standard and ensure product documentation meets regulatory and quality standard (ISO / IEC, UL, CE mark…)
Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering is preferred.business, or related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience such as Product Marketing or Senior Product specialist.Preferably
in a manufacturing / industrial environment
Key areas of experience include product development, applications engineering, production, or sales.Ability to work with customers.Ability to understand technical product datasheets.Strong understanding of manufacturing process, supply chain and product development cycles.Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate with employees at all levels within the organization.Proven ability to work in a team environment.Proficient knowledge of global joystick markets, competitors, products, and applications is a plus.Must be fluent in English. Working knowledge of French is a plus.Experience in CRM, like Sales force is a plus.Travel will be no more than 20% of working time.
