Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This role is responsible for identifying and interpreting both internal and external sales trends to drive data-informed decision-making. This position will analyze historical results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. This individual will report to the Director of Finance and will work cross-functionally across several key areas of the business including Finance, Marketing, Decision Science, and others. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, market intelligence, and business strategy, with a proven ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
Responsibilities & Duties
Analyze Market Trends
- Analyze internal sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern across products, channels, regions, and customer segments.
- Monitor external market conditions, competitor performance, and industry trends to inform strategic planning and aid in forecast predictions.
Report & Forecast
Develop and maintain advanced forecasting models and tools, incorporating relevant data such as market trends, promotional activities, economic indicators, and competitive analysis.Regularly communicate sales forecasts and insights to key stakeholders, including senior management.Generate reports and presentations summarizing sales forecasts, performance analysis, and recommendations for management review and decision-making.Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track sales performance metrics and KPIs.Prepare clear and concise presentations and reports for senior leadership, offering data-driven recommendations to support strategic decisions.Evaluate the impact of past initiatives and campaigns to inform future sales strategies.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is requiredMinimum of 4 years relevant work experience within finance, economics, statistics or related fieldExperience in a data analysis or business strategy role, ideally in sales analytics or a related functionDemonstrates strong financial knowledge and analytical skillsDemonstrates high level of discretion and confidentiality in their workStrong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI. Hyperion & Peoplesoft (preferred)Experience working with large datasets and statistical or predictive modeling techniques is a plusExcellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholdersStrong business acumen and a strategic mindsetAdditional Information
