Coterra is hiring a Production Allocation & Gas Balancing Analyst in Houston, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

As a Product Allocation & Gas Balancing Analyst at Coterra, you will be responsible for accurate accounting and allocation of all volume for all products and commodities within Coterra’s internal database and accounting systems. You will be the liaison between the Analyst of Product Scheduling, Accounting, and Contract Administration to account for all volume and invoice charges from wellhead to ultimate downstream sales point. This position is located onsite at our Houston headquarters.

JOB SUMMARY

Complete monthly accrual to Accounting

Collect Gathering and Transportation invoices (collection, verification, routing for payment)

Resolve all invoicing discrepancies monthly.

Ensure that all volume produced in the month is accurately accounted for per pipeline statements, internal database and Gathering System Operator.

Coordinate and facilitate the enhancement of internal database to allow for more transparent accounting of all volume and product.

Complete monthly fuel utilization report and provide to Accounting.

Complete monthly GP&T budget analysis and ensure all budgets are adhered to and not exceeded.  Assist in the generation of annual GP&T budget estimates.

Oversee the preparation and distribution of monthly company operated well imbalance statements.

Reviews and analyzes gas imbalances evaluating company imbalance exposure.

Manage gas balancing coordinator’s duties to ensure traders and scheduling team are provided timely and accurate gas balancing estimates weekly of TIK partner balances.

Oversee all regulatory and SOX compliance efforts related to commercial activities.

Assist in the revision of all regulatory and SOX controls to ensure they are up to date and accurately reflect current business practices.  Make recommendations to enhance processes and address any regulatory short-comings in current business practices.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Prior experience in Oil and Gas Marketing

Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes and working with large data sets.

Familiarity with ETRM platforms such as Endur, Allegro, Aspect, or others is strongly preferred

Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Strong detail orientation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Ability to perform and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree required, Graduate degree preferred

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 10 years of experience, specifically in Oil and Gas marketing

12 or more years experience preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting, and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Percent of Travel Required :   Less than 5%; Travel may be required for mandatory meetings or training.
