An international CNC machine tool distributor is searching for a remote Field Service Engineer based out of Hartford, CT to provide technical support to manufacturing customers. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in electrical and mechanical systems, experience installing and troubleshooting CNC machine tools and injection molding machinery, and will be able to travel to provide field service support up to 90% of the time. This role is full-time and direct hire with a full benefits package (health / vision / dental insurances paid in full after 60 days, life and disability insurances, 401k with company matching, company profit-sharing, bonuses, holiday pay, new car assistance program, company-provided uniform and steel-toe boot reimbursements, and more), and requires up to 90% travel Monday through Friday. Compensation ranges from $30 – 40 per hour, dependent on level of experience. This position requires use of your own vehicle. Field Service Engineer Responsibilities : Travel to customer locations to install new machine tools, identify any mechanical problems with industrial machinery and perform on-site repairs as needed (including turret realignment, bearing and ball screw replacement, and hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting) Offer troubleshooting and technical support for machine tool equipment and injection molding machiney Read mechanical drawings and blueprints to resolve issues and complete repairs Document and report any issues Cross-train on mechanical, electrical and electronic maintenance, including attending seminars and conferences for professional development Provide top customer service and training to clients / customers Field Service Engineer Qualifications : Minimum of four years of maintenance or related experience required (industrial machinery diagnosis and repair, manufacturing maintenance) Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC turning machines and injection molding machines Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills required Able to use dial indicators, micrometers, voltmeters, calipers and other kinds of measurement equipment Able to travel nationwide up to 90% of the time for projects, including some overnights, Monday-Friday This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts / equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
