The successful candidate will be a key member of the executive leadership team, with primary responsibilities including the planning, implementation, and control of finance, accounting, tax, and cash-related activities. This role demands a professional with a strong technical background in fund, property, and corporate accounting / finance, who is adept at handling new and complex matters, and is detail-oriented with a proven track record of effective leadership. The Vice President, Controller will also be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, collaborating with the investment team on significant transactions, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting to stakeholders. Applicants for the Vice President, Controller position at the company should have an undergraduate accounting degree, with a Master's degree preferred, and a CPA certification. Experience in public accounting, internal controls, and commercial real estate is essential, with additional experience in self-storage or development being a plus. The role requires a candidate with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively across departmental lines, and a proven ability to mentor and develop a team.
