The Packaging Editor ensures that when Magic products hit the shelves, they always meet our quality standards for text and layout by polishing and perfecting the language on our packaging every step of the way—from assembling marketing copy to verifying final proofs—while helping to guide the overall packaging production process.
What You’ll Do
- Consolidate communication among multiple teams, including creative / copy writing, graphic design, legal, game design, and operations.
- Check and edit content, marketing, and legal copy for all Magic packaging components
- Final proofing of assembled packaging files to prepare for printing
- Guide, improve, and detail the processes we use in producing outstanding package copy
- While this position works only with English files, it will coordinate with localization teams in the production of packaging in other languages
- Engage with work across multiple projects simultaneously
What You’ll Bring
Four-year degree in English, communications, or a related field.2+ years experience as a paid copy editor or proofreaderExperience writing, editing, or proofreading legal disclaimers and / or physical product packagingExtended concentration and the ability to focus on small details.Flexible, adaptable workflow that thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentInformative, nuanced, and eloquent communication to convey excitement while maintaining accurately detailed informationDeeply collaborative outlook and the confidence and trust to work with others, including key project collaboratorsOrganizational skills ready to be applied to processes, information flow, and documentsNice to Have Technical Experience
