Informatica Developer

Responsibilities

Perform data warehouse solution design activities including requirements gathering, and design & development

• Support and maintain the Oracle data warehouse environment, including PL / SQL, Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica Change Data Capture, Oracle Warehouse Builder, Oracle APEX
• Help to support and maintain the production environment as needed.
• Work with subject matter experts within business units to develop an understanding how data supports their business activities and needs
• Work with solution architects and business analysts in translating solution requirements into state-of-the-art technical designs
• Review the work of other team members – including contractors – that work on enhancing and supporting the data warehouse
• Adhere to and enforce client software development methodology and standards, which include functional and technical designs, code reviews, unit & integration testing, source control and packaging of code
• Clearly document and communicate technical designs, solutions, and issues
• Assist in the training and development of other team members, contribute toward the continuous improvement of the BI team and Integration team, and help to build the capabilities of the IT department
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team in developing testing plans and streamlining testing activities
• Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of IT and business stakeholders

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Required Skills

Expert in Informatica for ETL development, data warehousing and ETL theory

Expert in Oracle PL / SQL, SQL, and SQL tuning

Cloud Data Warehouse experience on Snowflake

Strong ability to extract or deduce requirements from interviews with business users

Extensive experience with relational databases with a focus on Oracle

Understanding of entity relationship diagram conventions and various data modeling patterns (e.g. – dimensional model, 3rd normal form)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – ability to work with large data sets and develop robust solutions to complex technical problems

Expertise in ETL performance tuning and SQL tuning

Experience with ETL techniques and concepts (e.g. – change data capture, slowly changing dimensions, managing exceptions, set based / bulk processing

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and relationship skills

Self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong desire and aptitude to learn new technologies and skills

Preferred Skills (nice to have)

Experience with Informatica Cloud

Oracle Warehouse Builder experience

Oracle APEX development experience

Experience with reporting tools OBIEE, Tableau

Experience with Base SAS programming

Knowledge of manufacturing business processes
