Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Physical ability to work on-site and handle heavy components. Certification in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics is a plus. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lift or move heavier items. Physical stamina to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time while performing repairs or maintenance. Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather, as job sites are often outdoors. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling tools and small parts. Ability to climb on and off equipment safely and work in confined or awkward spaces when necessary. Full range of motion to inspect, service, and repair heavy equipment components. Visual acuity to assess mechanical systems, identify issues, and perform precision tasks. MH Civil is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of various types of heavy machinery and construction equipment. Your expertise will help ensure that our equipment is in optimal working condition, contributing to the smooth and safe operation of our projects.
What you'll do :
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment such as loaders, bulldozers, excavators, graders, and other machinery used in construction. Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, including motor rebuilds and overhauls.
- Perform regular maintenance on equipment, including engine tune-ups, hydraulic system repairs, brake adjustments, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Electrical system repair, experience with the electrical systems in heavy machinery, including diagnostics, repairs and replacements.
- Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine any necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Maintain detailed records of services, repairs, and parts inventory to ensure operational efficiency.
- Work with operators to understand equipment issues and ensure equipment safety and performance.
- Perform field repairs on job sites as necessary, ensuring minimal downtime of machinery.
- Assist with the assembly and disassembly of machinery and ensure proper installation of parts.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest equipment, technologies and repair techniques.
- Ensure all safety standards are followed when working with heavy equipment.
- Requires extensive travel to diagnose and repair equipment on the job site.
