American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a current IL license and strong critical care skills for a high acuity unit.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care ICU setting within a high acuity unit8-bed critical care unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 2-3Care for patients with respiratory failure, post-surgical needs, wound care, IV antibiotics, post CVA, post trauma, and cardiac conditionsRequired to titrate ICU-level drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, and Cardizem12-hour day shifts (7a-7p) with rotating weekends and holidaysMust float to MS unit as neededUtilizes Epic EMR system; experience preferredCentrally monitored Phillips telemetry monitors for all bedsRespiratory therapist in house 24 / 7No nurse aids or patient care techs; RNs provide primary careRNs are responsible for direct patient care, including management of critical drips and monitoring of telemetryUnit is supported by a house supervisor 24 / 7 and a tele-health physician service after hoursClassroom orientation and two shifts on the unit with a preceptor providedHoliday coverage is required as part of a rotationScrubs are required; any color allowed with OSF approved t-shirtsCOVID vaccination is not required for this positionNo radius rule; local rates apply for those with a permanent address within 50 milesICU RNs may be required to float to other units based on staffing needs\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 1 year of ICU experience requiredCurrent ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications requiredExperience with PEG tube care / feedings, CVC / PICC / Midline usage, tracheostomy care, caring for sedated and ventilated patients, and titrating sedation and pain control dripsAbility to work with respiratory equipment including vents, Cpap, BiPap, and high flow devices\n Benefits\n
