Summary

The role of the Public Area Attendant will set the stage for the guest experience through attention to detail, proficiency, and can-do attitude. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas, hallways, and restroom facilities according to standards. The model applicant will have a strong work ethic and be a team player.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Perform a combination of tasks that maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner, thereby contributing to a pleasant, positive guest experience.
• Clean assigned areas as required by emptying trash, dusting furniture, washing windows, vacuuming, mopping floors, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Guest rooms - make beds, replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies etc.
• Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings. Replace light bulbs as needed.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
• Vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Carry linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
• Operate laundry machines, fold linen, and stock linen closets.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Maintain all equipment in working order.
• May be requested to perform other housekeeping duties as needed.
• Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the department manager.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, report accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management.

Qualifications :

Education / Experience : Applicable cleaning experience preferred but not required.
