Wound Care Nurse Practitioner

Qualifications : Must have an active Registered Nurse license, be a Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), and either have a valid Prescriptive Authority or be eligible for the Certificate to Prescribe Externship (CTP-E). Prior wound care management experience and wound care certification is preferred.

Essential Job Functions :

• Perform initial and follow-up patient visits as appropriate.
• Round on identified residents needing wound care consultation
• Consult appropriate physicians in cases where additional input may be needed to determine diagnosis and / or treatment of a patient.
• Order and interpret labs, x-rays, or other diagnostic testing as appropriate for patients.
• Prescribe clinically appropriate medication for patients (subject to having your Certificate to Prescribe, DEA number, or CTP-E).
