client is seeking a Senior ITIL Process Engineer (Contractor) to lead and mature IT service management and business continuity processes across a complex enterprise environment. This role combines deep ITIL v4 expertise with hands-on process engineering, configuration management, and disaster recovery planning experience.
The ideal candidate will design, implement, and continuously improve ITSM and business resilience processes to ensure their critical infrastructure and services remain stable, compliant, and recoverable.
- Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize ITIL v4-aligned processes across Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, and Service Continuity Management.
- Lead the Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning lifecycle, including strategy development, documentation, and test execution.
- Develop and maintain Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and associated governance frameworks ensuring data integrity, version control, and audit readiness.
- Engineer process automation and integration between ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) and operational platforms to enhance visibility and resilience.
- Collaborate with service owners, operations, and risk teams to identify process gaps and create actionable improvement plans.
- Ensure all processes support regulatory and compliance requirements (ISO 22301, ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
- Conduct risk assessments, business impact analyses, and dependency mapping across technology and business functions.
- Lead or participate in disaster recovery exercises, post-incident reviews, and process maturity assessments.
- Deliver process documentation, metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting to measure performance and compliance.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to technical and operations teams on ITIL, BCM, and DR best practices.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of progressive IT service management experience, with at least 5 years in process design and implementation roles.ITIL v4 Certification required (Managing Professional or Strategist preferred).Proven experience in Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery Planning in large-scale enterprise environments.Strong Configuration Management expertise, including CMDB data modeling, reconciliation, and process ownership.Hands-on experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM tools for process configuration, automation, and reporting.Excellent understanding of change, incident, and problem management workflows and their interdependencies.Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.Experience with risk management frameworks and business impact analysis (BIA) methodologies.Preferred Qualifications
