We are looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Property Team. This will be a remote role based in San Francisco, California.

Your Team

Allianz Commercial (AzC) specializes in corporate property insurance for the most complex and challenging risk exposures in more than 200 countries and territories. With a focus on larger international risk portfolios, we offer tailor‑made ‘All Risks’ property damage and business interruption insurance through our Allianz Commercial Property network. We insure the majority of Allianz Commercial Property Fortune 500 companies, manage over 1,000 property insurance programs, and field an underwriting team averaging over 20 years of experience, backed by a worldwide team of risk consultants and claims specialists.

The Impact You Will Have

As an Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in driving the profitability and growth of our Property Line of Business (LoB). Your expertise will ensure that new and renewal business meets our targets while adhering to underwriting guidelines and authority. You will negotiate price, terms, and conditions and take ownership of key accounts and clients. By developing and maintaining strong relationships with producers and clients, in partnership with Market Management, you will contribute significantly to our success.

Specific Responsibilities

• Underwrite profitable new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets, negotiating participation, pricing, and terms with brokers.
• Evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation and ensure an understanding of catastrophe modeling and interpretation of scenarios.
• Ensure contract certainty at inception and utilize global pricing tools effectively.
• Manage policy documentation and administration, ensuring accurate issuance and file maintenance.
• Support the development and execution of regional underwriting strategy, including training and coaching of less experienced staff.
• Proactively support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business, liaising with Market Management on initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and stakeholders, positively representing AGCS externally.

Compensation

The annualized base pay range for this role is $99,563 – $150,464. The base pay is just one component of the AGCS total‑compensation package, which also includes annual performance‑based cash incentive awards.
