Job Summary : Vision Net, Montana’s largest state-wide network and premier data center provider is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team.

You will be responsible for guiding the overall management and operational excellence of our Network Operations department.

The Network Operations Supervisor will lead a team of professionals, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery to our customers.

This role requires a proven ability to manage and motivate a team, drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement, and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Job Duties and Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Network Operations department, including service delivery, provisioning, project management, services maintenance and repair, revenue and service assurance.
  • Supervise the performance of assigned personnel, always ensuring professionalism and compliance with all established responsibilities, authorities, and reporting protocols.
  • Coordinate project schedules, including planning, budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent project cadence, ensure high project performance, and proactively identify and swiftly resolve any project-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • SLA management ensuring compliance and meeting performance targets.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for carrier partners on operational matters.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective performance management, including goal setting, regular feedback, and constructive performance reviews.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Manage team to key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Planning and governance of departmental annual operating and capital budgets.

    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies (Voice, Data, IP, Ethernet, Photonics, Network Security).
  • Industry best practices and standards.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with OSS / BSS systems and network management tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and other relevant software.
  • Driving project management planning, organizing, and executing projects to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Proven experience in managing and improving operational performance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills; written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Highly self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.

    • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in telecommunications.

    • Physical Demands and Working Conditions :

  • Perform work duties in general office environment or occasional job site location.
  • Sitting / standing at an office desk for up to 8 hours / day.
  • A valid Montana driver’s license, safe driving record and be insurable is required.
  • Frequent use of technology, computers, devices, keyboards.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoors weather conditions and to dust and dirt.
