Summary : The Jr. Credit Risk Review Analyst works alongside more senior level analysts within the Credit Risk Review department to gain knowledge and experience in the review of commercial loans as well as overall credit risk management. Conducts detailed reviews of less complex commercial loan transactions. Analyzes credit, evaluates collateral and guarantor support, and assesses documentation. Ensures individual credits are adequately underwritten, properly graded, and conform to the Bank's lending policies. Identifies trends and risks within the Bank's loan portfolio.
Job Responsibilities :
Loan Review Memos
- Performs independent, comprehensive assessments of credit to evaluate underwriting and credit quality within the Bank's loan portfolio. Analyzes the financial condition of the borrower, repayment capacity, collateral value, credit and appraisals. Tests for compliance with the Bank's lending policies and federal regulations. Reviews documentation of loans to ensure all required information is complete and accurate. Validates the accuracy of existing commercial loan grades in accordance with the metrics outlined in the Bank's loan grade system. Reports findings to the Director Credit Risk Review.
Credit Training
Participates in various commercial lending training courses through industry trade organizations including, but not limited to, ProSight (fka RMA), American Bankers Association, and NJ Bankers.Exception Tracking
Assists with the tracking and reporting of documentation / condition exceptions based on quarterly review findings.Credit Risk Reporting
Provides support with data collection and preparation of board level credit risk management reports, including, but not limited to concentration, policy exception, and stress testing. Supports other areas of risk management with credit related analysis.Third Parties
Assists with the preparation for the onsite review of by third party consultants and external auditors.Industry Knowledge
Remains current with industry regulations, market conditions, and Bank policies, procedures, and lending product offerings to ensure compliance throughout the underwriting and credit administration process and to assess risk in credit transactions.Other
