Must-Have :
1 year of MRI experience is required.
Experience with Siemens MRI systems is required, and Philips experience is preferred.
Travel experience and Level II trauma experience are considered a significant plus.
Description :
The department has a total of 4 scanners with agency staffing for 2.
There is also a mobile unit, meaning travelers may work alongside one permanent staff member.
Staff will not be required to float or cover other areas.
Common imaging studies performed include musculoskeletal, basic neuro, abdomen / pelvis, radiation oncology, and breast imaging.
Technologists will work with pacing and anesthesia patients, including those in ICU and NICU.
The average number of scans per day is approximately 30 due to lengthy protocols.
The department utilizes a PACS system and has Meditech as their Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
GE, Siemens, and Philips equipment is used within the department.
A full-time supervisor is scheduled for each shift, and a senior tech will be present if a lead tech is unavailable.
Registered Radiology Assistants will be hired soon, with interviews scheduled.
Radiologists are present in-house during the day, primarily for interventional radiology, and remote readers handle most MRI cases.
Starting IVs is required in this position.
The department generally follows a block scheduling model, with shifts commencing between 8 AM and 12 PM.
Weekend shifts are only required if hired specifically for weekend coverage.
The department handles high volumes of inpatients (10-14 per day) and outpatients (4-8 per day) on weekends, typically performing outpatient scans without contrast.
There is no mandatory call or standby requirement, although volunteering is an option if staffing needs arise.
The dress code requires black scrubs with a black or gray jacket, and a black or gray undershirt is permitted under scrubs.
The unit / department-specific orientation lasts for 1-2 weeks.
This is an acute care setting.
