Hiring Range : $41,412.39 - $51,765.49

This is an non-exempt (hourly) position. Please note : pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity considerations include an assessment of the applicant's salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirements for the job.

Position Summary

List and measure residential property types within Mecklenburg County to include existing real property

and new construction as mandated by the State of North Carolina. This position, under direct supervision,

is to function in both a team environment and independently to ensure that listings meet or exceed

professional standards and can be successfully defended before tax payers, tax representatives,

attorneys, and local and state Boards by Appraiser and Senior Level staff.

Essential Functions

• Assist the public by answering complaints via telephone, fax, email and personal contact
• Conduct field inspections of residential
• Meet with property owners to explain ad valorem tax process
• Collect, data in developing the schedule of values
• Utilize CAMA and web-related appraisal programs

Minimum Qualifications

Experience :

Minimum of one year of experience directly related to appraisal, tax assessment, or related field

(construction, insurance, etc.)

Education :

High School Diploma or equivalent

Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? : Yes
