POSITION PURPOSE
The IT Support Technician is the first point of contact when faculty, staff, and students request support. The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing excellent customer technical support to end-users on campus. The technician will bring significant value to the University through experience and education. This position requires exceptional customer service and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A flexible schedule is needed to cover afternoons and weekends.
IT Support Technicians will also have opportunities to work with others in the IT department on Networking projects, SSO SAML connections, Windows Deployment Services, Virtualization, Disaster Recovery Planning, IP-Based phone systems, Network Security with an emphasis on Email Security, and more.

Average Visual Abilities :
Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

Reasoning Ability :
Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions.
Mathematics Ability :
Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percentages, and draw and interpret graphs.
Language Ability :
Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.
