Maintenance Support Technician - 72001547

This position will report to a Groundskeeping Supervisor I. This position must be able to work independently, be able to follow directions and instructions, and have the skill to serve as a crew leader in the absence of the supervisor. This incumbent shall provide assistance in maintaining the Capitol Grounds. Specifically, this position involves vehicle maintenance, PM records and equipment inventory. Also, the incumbent will perform work maintaining trees and shrubs by trimming, fertilizing, and transplanting.

Maintenance Support Duties :

• Sign out / in all vehicles, vehicle logs, WEX cards on a daily basis
• Maintain vehicle logs, PM records, repair records
• Transport vehicles to repair facilities for service / repair
• Weekly check fluid levels in all vehicles
• Fill and Transport fuel cans to Grounds fuel storage for equipment use
• Sign out all gasoline used for equipment
• Sign out / in all power equipment on a daily basis
• Fill out any equipment repair work orders
• Maintain inventory of all power equipment
• Run all equipment not in regular use on a monthly basis (to maintain in good working order)
• Sweep / Clean equipment storage area
• Secure building entries and gates at close of business
• Also performs work maintaining trees and shrubs to include trimming, fertilizing, transplanting, etc.
• Operates mechanized equipment in the care and maintenance of Capitol Center Grounds. Including turf, trees, shrubs, ground covers, annuals planting or other such plant materials.
• Mows and edges turf, trims hedges and shrubs, waters landscape, plants foliage materials and other jobs associated with these actions.
• Cleans grounds of trash and debris as required.
