Overview

4-H Mentoring Assistant Site Coordinator will work with the Site Coordinator to serve the youth and families in the 4-H Mentoring program to provide afterschool club meetings, monthly family night out events and monthly group mentoring activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruiting volunteer mentors at the local high school
  • Assist with recruiting youth and families for the program
  • Plan and implement monthly events, such as Family Night Out and Mentor / Mentee activities
  • Assist with weekly mentoring club at the school
  • Attend all staff meetings and training's
  • Assist with maintaining site data (volunteers, families / youth, surveys,

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Must be able to work effectively with volunteers, youth, and families
  • Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Applications, Google Drive, Gmail, Social Media)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, good follow-through
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Afternoon & Evening schedule that is open and / or flexible
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Mentoring experience working with children, youth, and families
  • Past experience in the 4-H Program as a youth or volunteer
  • Past experience working with nonprofits, community organizations
  • Event planning experience

    This position will be both indoors and outdoors helping and supervising youth in various program activities. Moderate physical duties include lifting club supplies and carrying them to and from the elementary school.
