Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. The person who fills this role will design and develop scalable and highly efficient cloud-based data pipelines and platforms, which will support flexible model training and inference to drive scientific discovery and have real-world impact on patients with physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Designing and building scalable and flexible databases for massive-scale storage of heterogeneous and high-dimensional data and metadata

Designing and developing systems for high-throughput data ingestion, pipelining, curation, quality assessments

Creating data heuristics and visualization platforms for monitoring dataset statistics

Characterizing data throughput, efficiency, compressibility, and performance

Providing observability, monitoring, and logging for data pathways

Working collaboratively within a small team to integrate data platforms and pipelines with research and deployment applications (e.g. via ETL and ML prep operations)

Maintaining versioned, clear, and highly documented code, analysis pipelines, and results for maximum interpretability and reproducibility

Contribute to documentation for a Quality Management System, as appropriate and relevant to ML implementations that become part of medical products

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Engineering, Data Science, or other relevant quantitative field

A minimum of 4 years of industry experience building solutions to manage large / massive datasets at scale

Experience working with distributed-data tools (e.g. Spark / Databricks, Delta Lake)

Proficiency in Python and SQL

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Azure platforms

Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and related technologies

Experience working on medical or clinical applications

Experience developing data solutions for foundation modeling
