POSITION SUMMARY
Performs welding tasks on aircraft turbine engine components of exotic metals. Designs, builds aircraft turbine engine stands, fixtures, and various facilities equipment / tooling.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
- Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
- Aircraft turbine engine welding.
- Aircraft engine stands / fixture / tooling.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
- Ensure equipment is maintained under the Company's tooling and equipment Program. Material Ordering.
- Follows approved repair / modification procedures for component or aircraft, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) technical data, and work package instructions.
- Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
- Completes work package documentation by signing / stamping off after finishing all designated operations.
- Submits completed work to Quality Assurance for final / in progress inspection and recertification of airworthiness.
- Comply with repair station procedures (RSM / QCM) and company policies (SOP) when performing aircraft or component maintenance.

Education :
High School Diploma / GED requiredAerospace Welders certification AWS D17.1Experience :
Generally at least 5-7 years of experience in area of responsibility1-2 years MIG welding experiencePrevious work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed, preferably in an aviation environment.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Knowledge of Tools used in this occupation : Blow torches; Welding torches; Mobile welding units; Welding masks;Repair body or structure of aircraft according to specifications.Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.Be proficient in the usage of air powered hand tools and related equipment.Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Design and build GSE EquipmentRepair GSE EquipmentRepair of Aircraft ToolingOrder Metals / MaterialsOrder and maintain welding consumablesWorking Conditions / Environment / Special Requirements
