Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager

A Network Operations Center Manager provides operational leadership and oversight of execution of the 24x7x365 Network Operation Center (NOC) supporting the network operations of multiple Air Force and Space Force bases globally. The NOC Manager will manage and direct the NOC team performing the day-to-day operations and administration of network monitoring systems, identifying and reporting incidents, resolving and tracking incidents to maintain system availability and optimal network performance. This role is responsible for the managerial and technical oversight of NOC activities including workforce direction, processes, and reporting. This role manages NOC services and budget to support optimized performance to meet or exceed contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
How A Network Operations Center Manager Makes An Impact
- Oversees a 24 / 7 NOC team consisting of system engineers, system admins, cyber security analysts, network engineers and network admins. Provides support to manages bases' network operation and maintenance teams.
- Over and report operational network statistics including KPIs, SLAs, QoS, and EOL configuration management items.
- Plans NOC enhancements and supports the procurement process of NOC services and equipment.
- Ensures coordination of Tier 2 and Tier 3 support with co-located Network Integration team and engineers.
- Manages risks and resolve issues that affect change scope, schedule, and quality.
- Participates in operational briefings and meetings to provide situational awareness and status for network monitoring, compliance, and liaison capability.
What You'll Need To Succeed
Security Clearance Level : DoD Secret Level Clearance requiredRequired Certifications : Requires DOD 8140 Intermediate certification (e.g. Security+ or equivalent) and the ability to obtain DOD 8140 Advanced certification (e.g. CISM or equivalent) within the first 60 days of hire : CASP+, SecurityX, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCED, GCIA, GCLD, CISA, CISSP, GSLCEducation : Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institute in a related field. (Will consider 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).Required Experience :5+ years of increasing responsibilities working and leading remote operations centers
Strong demonstrable fundamental technical knowledge of networks, systems, and operations tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)Thorough understanding of wireless networkingExcellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and collaborative skillsThorough knowledge of ITSM best practices and supporting systemsRequired Technical Skills :Demonstrated experience in managing around the clock operations ensuring services are maintained at SLA levels.
Experience with operations and administration of multiple network vendor systemsRequired Skills and Abilities :Exceptional verbal and written communication skills applied to the development and presentation of technical materials appropriate to a broad spectrum of audiences.
