Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Circulator RN to join our perioperative team on a 13-week contract. This role requires a highly skilled professional capable of delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care throughout all phases of the surgical experience. The OR Circulator RN will ensure a sterile and efficient environment, collaborate closely with surgeons and surgical staff, and maintain strict compliance with clinical and safety standards.
This position offers 36 guaranteed hours per week (except during Christmas week) and includes weekday daytime shifts with occasional shared call.
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe, high-quality nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
Function as the circulating nurse, ensuring proper room setup, patient positioning, and adherence to sterile technique.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia staff, and surgical technologists to ensure smooth workflow and positive patient outcomes.
Verify accuracy of surgical consents, documentation, and patient identification.
Maintain detailed records in the electronic medical record system.
Support patients and families with clear communication and compassionate care.
Participate in shared call as scheduled.
Requirements
Active California RN license (must be current).
BLS certification required.
Recent TB clearance (within the past 12 months).
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience , specifically in circulating roles.
Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, perioperative safety protocols, and surgical procedures.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Shift Information
Monday Friday, day shift
Some shared call required
36 hours / week guaranteed (except Christmas week)
