Are you a CPA with a passion for mentorship, client strategy, and leading high-performing teams? We’re a growing and respected public accounting firm in Pleasant Hill, CA, and we’re looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our leadership team. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role ideal for someone ready to shape the future of our firm while delivering excellent service to a diverse portfolio of clients.
What You’ll Do
- Lead & Review : Oversee and review tax returns for individuals, businesses (S / C-Corps, partnerships), trusts, and multi-state entities
- Strategize with Clients : Act as a key advisor, delivering proactive tax planning and solutions that make a real difference
- Mentor & Manage : Guide a team of senior staff, junior staff and interns — delegate, review, and support their development
- Balance Technical & Strategic Work : Research complex tax matters, stay ahead of regulatory changes, and identify tax-saving opportunities
- Drive Engagements : Manage multiple client engagements from start to finish, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance
- Partner with Leadership : Collaborate on firm-wide initiatives and help shape operational strategy and client growth
Who You Are
CPA (Active license required)6+ years in public accounting with significant tax experience4+ years managing staff and leading engagementsStrong working knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state tax regulationsExcellent communicator with a collaborative mindsetProficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and ideally UltraTaxComfortable juggling multiple priorities and client needs with grace and accuracyWhat You’ll Get
