Role Overview
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for architecting, implementing, securing, optimizing, and maintaining all of 1X’s network infrastructure. This includes corporate offices, data centers, cloud environments, co‑located facilities, wired / wireless networks, and service provider interconnections. You will ensure high performance, scalability, reliability, and security across all networks, and work closely with cross‑functional teams to define network requirements, execute site builds, and apply best practices.
Responsibilities
Architect, design, and implement secure and optimized network solutions for corporate offices, cloud infrastructure, data centers, and other 1X‑operated sites.
Manage and execute site builds, including secure office network deployments.
Secure, configure, implement, and manage wireless network environments, ensuring adherence to wireless network security best practices.
Troubleshoot wired, wireless, and service provider connectivity issues to ensure maximum availability and performance.
Continuously optimize network performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
Collaborate with IT, business, and operations teams to define requirements and deliver robust networking solutions.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and policies.
Travel occasionally, both locally and domestically, to support site deployments or audits as needed.
Requirements
5-10 years of relative experience in the field
TCP IP Fundamentals & understanding of OSI model
Design, deploy, and troubleshoot modern leaf-and-spine architectures using HPE Aruba CX L2 / L3 switches
Strong expertise with EVPN / VXLAN, VSX, MLAG, BGP, OSPF, and fabric-level routing
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex L2 / L3 issues, including routing anomalies, adjacency issues, ECMP, and segmentation
Deploy and manage Aruba APs, controllers, and Aruba Central / AirWave
Deep understanding of Wi-Fi design (RF planning, roaming behavior, 802.11k / v / r, channel / power optimization)
Implement and maintain certificate-based onboarding for corporate Wi-Fi using ClearPass and EAP-TLS
Operate and troubleshoot Aruba ClearPass (RADIUS, TACACS+, profiling, posture, PKI integration)
Manage and debug Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama, NAT, VPNs, QoS, App-ID / User-ID, traffic flow inspection)
Deep knowledge of DNS and DHCP, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting
Experience with PKI, certificate lifecycle, and automated device enrollment
Familiarity with monitoring / observability tooling (Grafana, NetFlow, SNMP, Syslog, telemetry, NMS platforms)
Experience with network automation

Cloud security controls (Wiz)
Endpoint security (MDM, EDR, CrowdStrike)
Asset management / CMDB
Vulnerability management and remediation workflows

Salary Range : $139,340 – $160,000
