Excavator Rental Services (ERS), a division of REIC, is hiring an experienced Local Class A CDL Driver to the deliver designated equipment as assigned and ensuring the operator is familiar with delivered equipment. Our CDL drivers deliver heavy equipment (mainly dirt moving equipment) to our customers in Oregon and Washington. This includes overseeing the safe loading / unloading of heavy equipment and accessories, record / report the working condition of delivered and retrieved equipment, ensure the truck is clean and has current daily and weekly inspections, and monitor and schedule annual and DOT inspections as required.

Top candidates will have :

  • Valid Class A CDL Driver's License is required with manual transmission experience
  • Minimum 2 years of driving AND operating experience with heavy equipment
  • Experience in construction or Equipment Rental industries preferred
  • Commit to a drug-free workplace
  • Driving record violation-free for previous three years to include no record of any of the following violations :

    • Driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance

  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Committing a felony with a motor vehicle
  • Reckless driving
  • Excessive speed

    • A typical day may include :

  • Ensuring pre-trip and post-trip inspections are conducted and documented
  • Observing and reporting mechanical and safety failures
  • Maintaining vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing
  • Maintain all required certification, inspections, and medical compliance

    • Additional qualifications

  • Have excellent communication skills with dispatch

  • Ability to creatively solve problems
  • Self-starter and motivated to provide customer satisfaction

    • Physical demands

  • Ability to stand / sit for extended periods of time and the ability to perform tasks such as walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling and reaching.
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds for short periods, often several times per day
  • of workday performing, but not limited to :

    • Standing 10%

  • Walking 10%
  • Sitting 80%

    • This position is classified as nonexempt.

  • REIC and affiliates are drug-free companies and require all new-hires to submit and pass a pre-employment drug screening which includes testing for marijuana. All current employees are on a random drug testing schedule which includes testing for marijuana.
