Tax Staff

We're a well-established and reputable local CPA firm in Austin, TX that is looking to add a Tax Staff to our team. This position will be an in-person role (potential for hybrid) and would be ideal for a staff accountant either looking to work in Austin or have a better work-life balance. The Tax Staff would work primarily within the tax department, responsible for preparing tax returns of various types, but may also be asked to perform bookkeeping responsibilities on some clients. Due to the size of the firm, there is plenty of potential to grow and increase work responsibilities.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting.
• CPA license, currently sitting for the CPA exam, or making progress to sit for the CPA exam.
• 0-1 years of public accounting experience.
• Good communication skills to be used with other employees in the office and clients.
• Strong work ethic and detail-oriented; the flexibility to work overtime, if needed, to meet client deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products.
• Experience with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS and / or Engagement Manager is a plus.
• Nonprofit experience is a plus.
• QuickBooks and / or Sage experience would be helpful.
