job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWrite copy for press releases, website, social media, and other communication materials Develop and maintain external communications (newsletter, press releases, social media) Analyze and measure results of PR, social media and marketing efforts Identify and act on opportunities to promote AAU, increase exposure and educate the community on Assist with promotion, advertising and overall AAU marketing initiatives Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, communications, social media, marketing or public Minimum of 4 years’ experience required Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills a must Experience with drafting and distributing press releases a plus Experience with social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube a plus Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) a plus Knowledge of sports, especially the youth sports industry, a must Knowledge of video editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere a plus Knowledge of photography a plus Must be able to successfully pass an AAU background screening

The Public Relations Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of Communications and will work with digital, social media, and multimedia personnel as well. Candidates seeking a collaborative environment, working with people passionate about youth sports and wanting to make a direct impact on a nationally recognized brand are encouraged to apply.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to :
- Manage the development and implementation of multi-platform public relations strategy for AAU
- Implement public relation and social media plans to promote the AAU brand in the media, at events
and other related activities
