job_description.job_card.job_descriptionLinux Developer / Linux Engineer 18 Month Contract Dallas TX - HYBRID 3 times per week onsite from Day 1 QUICK INTERVIEW PROCESS NO C2C or subvendor. Must work on W2 only Description : Implement, configure, and manage Linux-based processes and infrastructure for data warehousing. Identify system vulnerabilities and access control issues, troubleshoot them, and implement necessary improvements. Enhance various Linux-based toolsets, scripts, jobs and processes. Participate in System upgrade projects and non-permitted technology remediation activities. Required Skills Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a strong emphasis on Linux development. Strong Practical working experience in Linux server configuration and shell scripting. Solid understanding of SSH / SFTP including public key authentication and configuration options. Practical knowledge of Unix file systems including basics of mount types, permissions, standard tools, pipes. Working knowledge of Python and preferably also Perl. Experience using and / or configuring common SDLC tools that support Agile, such as Jira, Jenkins, Ansible Practical working experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle Exadata Understanding of the Agile methodology Excellent written and oral communication skills Passion for automation and continual process improvement Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience Bachelor’s degree in STEM related field.
