Position Highlights
The Pharmacy Strategic Analyst / Auditor is responsible for providing analysis and business consulting services to the department of pharmacy, for ongoing operations as well as new products and services, often in collaboration with Payer Strategy and Finance. This position will collaborate with pharmacy leadership and clinical staff to identify opportunities such as formulary management decisions to reduce costs and / or maximize revenue, while complying with payer and regulatory guidelines Incumbent will interpret information from reports and other sources and advise customers of the meaning and impact of the information to the department and related strategies.
Responsibilities (not a complete list)
- Develops and maintains institutional performance dashboards that report actual performance against predetermined financial, process and resource management goals.
- Fulfills complex report requests from pharmacy leaders which require problem-solving and consulting skills.
- Demonstrate superior analytical skills required to build and summarize a variety of simple and complex financial reports.
Assist and develops new analyses, reports and dashboards to fulfill changing reporting needs.
Provides data, variance analysis, and consulting services for their assigned areas for the annual budget, quarterly forecast and monthly DTOPS.Supports development of financial forecasts as it relates changes in the cost of drugs and the rates of reimbursement changes based on average sales prices quarterly changesCollaborates with pharmacy leadership when evaluating opportunities to reduce costs or maximize revenuesAssist pharmacy leadership in strategic workflow changes in order to optimize pharmacy resources to improve productivity (i.e time studies).Assists with new programs and new business development by providing financial assessment of set-up, costs, and revenue from a technical and professional cost / reimbursement perspective.Provides assistance with the development of strategic cost and margin strategies, then translates these into the assumptions used in the annual budget and quarterly forecast.Provides support for Strategic Initiatives, including modeling estimated financial impact and reporting on results.Credentials & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Health RelatedMinimum 1 year previous experience in financial systems in a business or healthcare setting.Experience with pharmacy ordering and analytic databases is preferred.IT or Pharmacy customer service and support experienceAbility to take a leadership role in problem escalation, resolution and vendor interactionsSpecific experience with database structure may be required.Knowledge of programming impact / interaction to application helpful.Demonstrated leadership skillsDemonstrated high interest in systems improvement, (computerized or manual) and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Willingness to work at a detailed level.Good written and oral communication skills as well as strong project management skills.Software application skills experience and knowledge of other software packages running on other platforms. Integrated software system implementation experience.
