Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience
6+ years of work experience
Ability to read, write and speak the English language
Data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP / IP, Optical Transport)
Extensive knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols
Extensive knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
Extensive knowledge in TCP / IP and the OSI Model, using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations, basic network devices and basic network appliances, and network designing software, such as Visio
Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced team environment, and learn new technology quickly
Ability to use personal computer and software applications, Microsoft Office, telephone, copier, fax, and calculator
Preferred Qualifications
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Juniper Network Certified Specialist (JNCIS or JNCIP)
Industry and vendor specific certifications and training (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.)
Knowledge of Spectrum’s products and services Works with the Network Security team to implement effective vulnerability management.Works with technical organization to implement effective mitigation processes.Coordinates with the technical teams to implement security counter-measures.Understands and initiates effective lifecycle management, compliance and patching processes for Charter infrastructure, to ensure Charter’s network is at reduced risk for attack exploits.Analyzes and provides recommendations for process improvement to detect and mitigate security threats.Strong working knowledge of how to monitor, document and mitigate Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) threats across multiple technology vendors.Understanding of how to monitor the network for intrusions and threats, and the measures necessary to prevent them.Proactively identifies threats, and provides recommendations for mitigation.Works with penetration test teams to provide access to systems and identify threats.Provides feedback to cybersecurity teams for the improvement of existing systems.
