Pipe Fabricator

The Mundy Companies a leader in the industrial maintenance services and construction fields is currently hiring the following position in the Pasadena TX area :

PIPE FABRICATOR

5 x 8 OT

This individual will need to know how to read P &ID ISO weld map their packets and verify field measurements

Successful candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as a Pipefitter / fabricatorin a petrochemical industrial or manufacturing environment.

Pipefitters / fabricators install and repair high and low-pressure pipe systems used in manufacturing in generation of electricity and in heating / cooling systems. Pipefitters / fabricators work from blueprints and drawings. They lay out the job and perform such tasks as measuring marking cutting and threading pipe to connect pipe systems. Pipefitters / fabricatorswork with various piping materials and tools and must know the specific use of each. For example gas and other chemicals require certain types of pipes and different types of seals and gaskets. Different pipes require different tools for assembly. The Pipefitter / fabricatortrade requires formal training to know local ordinances state codes and regulations regarding their work. Eye-hand coordination manual dexterity and physical balance is important. Pipefitters / fabricatorsuse many different materials and construction techniques depending on the type of project.

Major Duties & Responsibilities :

• Read and work from blueprints
• Install and make minor revisions to pre-fabricated pipe
• Perform general piping work such as line breaking installing blinds gaskets valves couplings and other fittings
• Cuts or drills holes in walls to permit passage of pipes using pneumatic drill
• Selects specified type and size of pipe
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets to hold pipe
• May disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe
• Perform other duties as required such as working with screw pipe
