Position Summary

As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will be essential in providing immediate medical care to individuals facing emergencies, including accidents, sudden illnesses, and life-threatening situations. Your role will encompass pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support until the patient reaches the accepting medical facility.

Key Responsibilities :

• Actively represent the ambulance service during public events and provide standby services as needed.
• Accurately document assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
• Provide care to patients in various crises, offering medical, traumatic, and therapeutic support.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Effectively operate life-saving equipment such as defibrillators and electrocardiograms.
• Assess the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses, establishing priorities for medical procedures.
• Respond to dispatcher instructions, safely navigate emergency vehicles to call locations.
• Administer medications via injection or intravenous procedures based on physician orders.
• Communicate with medical personnel at emergency facilities regarding treatment plans.
• Maintain hygiene standards by cleaning and decontaminating the ambulance after patient transport.

Physical Demands :

Must be able to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs for short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead are required.
