Factory Automation Engineer
Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) is seeking a Factory Automation Engineer. This position is located at the Linthicum, MD location.
What You'll Get to Do :
- Establish communication between factory host and semiconductor equipment.
- Gather network maps and execute network cable drops for all equipment.
- Architect custom solutions to bridge the gap between COTS software packages and internal applications.
- Author technical documentation that outlines equipment integration and factory automation to technical and non-technical individuals.
- Analyze needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develop technical, structural, and organizational specifications.
- Perform root cause analysis for application failures and implement solutions.
- Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal and external customers, in written and verbal format.
- Define requirements, author code, test and deploy custom solutions to factory automation systems.
- Assess security risk of equipment network ports and introducing 3rd party technology onsite.
Basic Qualifications for Factory Automation Engineer :
A degree in a STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with a minimum of 2 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 0 years of experience with a master's degree.Able to drive execution of Statement of Work (SOW) components with vendors and work cross organization.Experience in manufacturing microelectronics or semiconductor fabs.Experience in network architecture, concepts, and configuration.Experience in a programming language (C#, Java, Python, R, etc.).Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative / team settings across all levels.Must be willing to work on site 100% of time.Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required.This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance per business requirements.Preferred Qualifications for Factory Automation Engineer :
Active US government security clearance per business requirements.Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing automation modes, i.e. 'Manual', 'Semi-Auto', 'Full-Auto'.Familiarity with SECS / GEM protocol (SECS-I & SECS-II messaging, communication over RS-232 and TCP / IP).Experience working with SECS / GEM protocol (SECS-I & SECS-II messaging, communication over RS-232 and TCP / IP).Familiarity with SEMI Standards, particularly standards related to factory automation (E4, E5, E30, E37, etc.).Familiarity with concepts of multi-threading and socket programming.Familiarity with message-oriented middleware systems.Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and software tools, i.e. Atlassian tools stack - Jira, Confluence.Salary Range : $85,400.00 - $128,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
