Staffmark is hiring a Mechanical Project Engineer in Memphis, TN! Take the lead in designing and executing conveyor system projects in the automotive industry. What You’ll Do :

  • Lead mechanical engineering for conveyor system projects from concept through installation
  • Design conveyor equipment, structures, supports, and layouts to meet customer specifications and industry standards
  • Develop 2D drawings, 3D models, bills of materials (BOM), and detailed fabrication / installation documents
  • Perform calculations for loads, stress, tolerances, materials, and safety factors
  • Ensure designs comply with OSHA, ANSI, ISO, and other safety standards
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and installation teams for complete system integration
  • Specify materials, components, and fabricated parts for procurement
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning
  • Oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site installation to maintain design integrity
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of mechanical project engineering experience, preferably in automotive, conveyor, or material handling industries
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of material selection, fabrication, welding, machining, and structural design
  • Familiarity with conveyor systems, industrial automation, and material handling solutions
  • Experience preparing and reviewing detailed mechanical drawings and fabrication packages
  • Solid understanding of industry safety standards and mechanical codes
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning (up to 25–30%)
