Norges Bank Investment Management is looking for a Technical Support Engineer

NBIM is looking for a new team member who can demonstrate experience multitasking and working on a busy Service Desk with a proactive attitude and self driven initiative to help resolve IT issues for employees across the organisation. You are a technical generalist and customer focused expert with genuineproblem solver-mindset, experience in troubleshooting from Windows and Mac OS issues, hardware and software issues.

The right person should have a resourceful mindset keen to learn and seek information from online resources, troubleshoot and collaborate within the wider Technology department. You will take ownership of an incident from start to finish, demonstrating your communication and documentation skills.

You will join the global Service Desk team in the Oslo office, and report to the Head of Service Desk.

  • Take proactive support with technical initiatives and be comfortable resolving issues that require advanced troubleshooting
  • Conduct business analysis to identify process improvements and technology enhancements that align with organisational needs
  • Provide technical guidance to Service Desk team members
  • Maintain documentation for technical processes and solutions
  • Oversee critical incident responses, including coordinating resources and communicating with stakeholders
  • Take part in projects related to service improvements, technology deployments, and security enhancements

Work Schedule

Candidates will complete 8-hour daily shifts during core working hours, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 : 00AM CET and 6 : 00PM CET. Where necessary you should be willing to work outside of core hours over the weekend and holidays. This will be compensated.

What you need

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Norwegian
  • 5-8 years of experience in technical support or IT operations
  • Proven technical knowledge of enterprise IT environments, including Microsoft 365, Windows and Mac OS, Microsoft Intune and networking
  • Experience with business analysis methodologies and process improvement
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and IT service management principles
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant technical certifications (MCSA, CompTIA, ITIL) are a plus
