Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Coordinate Measuring Machine Programmer / Operator with strong inspection skills to join our Quality Control department. This role is responsible for setting up and operating Hexagon & Browne & Sharpe Metrology CMM’s using PC-DMIS The ideal candidate will have deep experience with 3D Modeling, Programming and high precision inspection tools.
Key Responsibilities :
Program & determine setup methodology and recommend fixturing for A&R’s Hexagon Metrology Global Chrome S and Browne & Sharpe CMM utilizing PC-DMIS 2018 & 2019 for use in inspecting tightly toleranced customer parts with multiple datums, profiles, etc.Must be able to create CMM programs utilizing customer supplied solid modelsConduct CMM inspection of new or complex parts and generate required AS9102 1st article reports to support A&R shipments and new customer qualification parts.Experience filling out and submitting AS9102 First Articles utilizing Net-Inspect on-line software is a plus.Utilize CMM experience to train other inspectors and CNC lead personnel in use of programs and quick setup fixturing to allow them to effectively inspect repeat parts or jobs.Conduct In-Process inspection of all A&R Engineering products to include mechanical inspection of critical part features as delineated by the part blueprint and / or Job Order requirements. Some dimensional features may be denoted by “In-Process Prints” or “Green Sheets” created by A&R Manufacturing Engineering.Must be competent in complex surface plate and / or open set ups using all standard inspection tools
ie : height master, sine plate, hand tools, gages, etc.Review and verify required Job Order sign-offs have been completed as required and that production 1st articles are complete and any required SPC has been completed.Create Inspection plans for new parts or revisions of existing parts as directed by Quality Manager or Director of Operations. This will include review and update of the parts Item Operations Descriptions for the Inspection sequences. Also, review and update Inspection Plans for existing product to address any issues discovered as a result of in-process inspection, internal audits or customer feedback.Learn setup and operation of A&R Optical Comparators and Keyence IM Vision systems to assist in performing In-Process Inspections and performing AS9102 1st Article Inspections. Attend training as needed to enhance skills with A&Rs CMMsAssist in training of other A&R Inspectors to enhance mechanical inspection techniques on difficult or hard to measure parts.Assist in creating AS9102 1st Article Inspection reports as directed by Quality Manager or Director of Operations.Qualifications :
Required :3+ years of CMM experience in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tolerance industry.
Strong knowledge of PC-DMIS, 3D Model design / analysis, and blueprint reading (including GD&T).Experience with aluminum, and steel alloy precision CNC cut partsFamiliarity with AS9100 / ISO9001 and AS9012-compliant work environments.Compensation & Benefits :
