Job Mission

As a Senior Product Developer on the Domestic Development team, you will lead footwear development projects by coordinating cross-functional teams and managing timelines. You will maintain open communication with product engineering, engineering services, purchasing, planning, marketing, design, and the Development Center. You will work directly with domestic and international suppliers to select, order, and track materials needed for prototyping and manufacturing trials. You will guide the evaluation of prototypes and support the transition to commercialization, ensuring alignment with product margin goals and cost improvement initiatives.

Major Accountabilities

  • Lead cross-functional development projects, ensuring alignment across engineering, design, and sourcing teams.
  • Evaluate prototypes throughout the development process and guide the transition to commercialization.
  • Manage product margin goals and support cost improvement activities.
  • Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers.
  • Select, order, and track materials for prototyping and manufacturing trials.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of shoe construction, terminology, and manufacturing processes.
  • Write specifications, create standards, and review technical drawings.
  • Generate spec sheets and tech packages to support development and production.

Requirements For Success

  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of project management and footwear development experience.
  • Solid understanding of patterns and molds; ability to identify materials and components.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of the footwear industry, including costing, manufacturing, shoemaking, and sourcing.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Creative and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Military product experience is a plus.
