Unit Secretary

Overview

We are seeking a Unit Secretary, also referred to as a Unit Clerk, Clinical Unit Secretary or Medical Unit Secretary. A Unit Secretary provides indirect patient care by managing departmental communications, organizing records, transcribing physician orders when needed, and ensuring charts, logs, and electronic records are accurate and complete. They support the Perinatal Unit by coordinating with physicians and departments, ordering supplies, restocking rooms after transfers or discharges, and assisting nursing staff with non-clinical tasks.

Shifts Available : Days

Employment Type : Full-time

Hours : 12-hour shifts – 7 : 00am to 7 : 00pm

Department : Labor and Delivery (L&D)

Location : Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have :  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent2. BLS certification within 30 days and maintain current3. Proficient with medical terminology preferred4. Proficient with Microsoft Office preferred5. Previous experience in an acute care setting or physician’s practice preferred
