job_description.job_card.job_descriptionHigh school diploma or general equivalency Valid driver’s license Journeyman Electrician is preferred, will consider those with diesel electrical experience or electrical experience and training with other types of machinery / truck or automotive Ability to follow Electrical Schematics is a definite asset Available to work all types of shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays in all weather conditions Ability to pass the required written examinations, read and understand safety instructions, rules, regulations and other written or printed material in English Dedication to safety and ability to complete work within guidelines / rules Flexible and competitive benefits package Competitive company pension and / or retirement plans Employee share purchase plan Annual fitness subsidy Part-time studies program
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain, inspect, test and repair all systems on diesel locomotives
- Electrical modifications and upgrades to locomotive systems
- Diagnostic trouble shooting with onboard computer systems / laptops
- Complete work in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings and service manuals
- Other duties as required as per collective agreement

Medical and Drug Testing
This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
