Fitness Desk & Member Support (Evenings & Weekends)

This dual-role position blends front desk customer service with fitness support at the BHF. As part of the Fitness team, you’ll welcome members, manage check-ins, provide personal training guidance, and help maintain a clean, safe, and positive environment. You will work under the direction of the Fitness Manager.

Schedule :

Tuesday & Thursday : 9 : 00 PM – Midnight

Every Other Weekend :

Friday : 9 : 00 PM – Midnight

Saturday & Sunday : 5 : 00 PM – Midnight

Key Responsibilities

Member & Guest Services

Greet and check in members and guests; monitor access and records.

Answer questions about club policies, programs, and services.

Enforce rules to maintain a safe, respectful environment.

Address complaints, comments, and suggestions promptly.

Fitness Training

Work one-on-one with clients to set and achieve fitness goals.

Demonstrate proper exercise form, technique, and progression.

Provide safe, effective instruction and motivation.

Facility Operations & Maintenance

Assist members with equipment use and cleaning after use.

Perform light cleaning (vacuuming, dusting, wiping counters, refilling amenities).

Fold and stock towel supplies; prepare carts for laundry service.

Secure the facility at the end of shift.

Organizational Responsibilities

Attend department meetings and complete required training / competencies.

Maintain current CPR / BCLS certification.

Follow safety, health, and ergonomic guidelines.

Support the department by working varied shifts if needed.

Qualifications

Minimum 18 years old; High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

6+ months of customer service / front desk experience; fitness facility experience required.

Personal training experience strongly preferred.

CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months).

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of exercise physiology, proper form, and safe instruction.

Ability to use computer systems, cash drawers, and office equipment.

Working Conditions

Fitness club environment with frequent interruptions and noise.

Physical stamina required for cleaning, equipment setup, and client support.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
