JOB DESCRIPTION :
Audubon is currently seeking a Process Control Consultant to join our team. The Process Control Consultant will support a manufacturing site in their Central Support (Productions and / or Projects) and provide technical assurance and quality control for base layer control applications, and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operability.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Key Areas of Responsibility will include :
- Provide Process Control and Engineering Technical assurance for Base Layer Control applications dictated by the project.
- Provide effective leadership and support for Project Execution.
- Interact closely with designated operations, projects organization and technical staff.
- Fundamental knowledge of Base Layer and Advanced Process Controls.
- Knowledge of applicable work processes, engineering guides, general specifications, and good engineering practice
- Individual needs to be adept at troubleshooting various base layer control configurations.
- Provide Base Layer Control technical support to onsite Control Systems Engineers for project related activities and planning (recommend, technically assure, and implement proposed solutions).
- Provide technical and quality control review of all impacts to Base Layer Control modifications associated with plant changes.
- Leverage use of existing Process Control Systems infrastructure, equipment, and tools to ensure stability with near-term production plans, business outlook, and constraints.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required for the position :
15+ years of relevant Base Layer Process Control experience.Experience in a manufacturing or technical support environment.Experience with DCS OEM ( Honeywell, Yokogawa, and DeltaV) systems.Proficiency withProcess engineering – Sound understanding of unit operations, distillation, compressors, heat exchangers, fired heaters, and reactors.Process modeling – Ability to translate process engineering knowledge into appropriately-detailed Base Layer Control configuration. Balance level of detail vs. robustness and solution speed. Formulation, solution, validation, and analysis of constraints. Knowledge of equation-based modeling techniques is a plus.Process control – Sound understanding of base layer and advanced process control and the impact of control system structure and status on the behavior of process units. Ability to interface a flow sheet model to control systems. Experience implementing process controls.Economics – Understanding of refinery stream valuation principles and practice. Ability to determine economic objectives for a process unit.Technical computing – Programming in the real time environment, familiarity with data transfer protocols (, OPC), understanding of manufacturing network architecture.Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled
