Job Title : Embedded Electrical Engineer
Location : Orlando, FL
Duration : Months
We're a small R&D team building interactive systems that blend hardware, firmware, and a bit of creative magic — and weʼre looking for a mid-level embedded electrical engineer to join us.
You'll be working on real, functional hardware — driving motors, handling a mix of onboard and offboard sensors, and helping our systems communicate over both wired and wireless networks. We move quickly, iterate often, and collaborate tightly across mechanical, systems, and creative teams. It's a bit of prototyping, a bit of product development, and a whole lot of solving problems hands-on.
What Youʼll Be Doing
- Designing and laying out custom PCBs
- Writing firmware for STM and ESP platforms using vendor IDEs
- Interfacing with a variety of sensors (IMUs, encoders, distance sensors, etc.) and motor drivers
- Handling low-voltage wiring (
- Building and troubleshooting systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other test equipment
- Building systems that connect over wired and wireless IP (think Ethernet, Wi-Fi, maybe even UDP / TCP comms)
- Collaborating with a small, multidisciplinary team to get hardware off the bench and into the real World
What Weʼre Looking For
years of experience in embedded hardware / firmware rolesStrong in C / C++ for embedded development, and solid understanding of microcontroller interfaces (SPI, IC, UART) and lower level controls through the use of DMA, multiple cores, and real time operating systems.Experience designing and bringing up custom PCBs, especially with mixed-signal componentsComfortable writing your own drivers when needed — not just piecing together modulesFamiliar with basic networking at the firmware level ( IP stack, sockets, client / server patterns)Confident with common lab tools and ready to get hands-on at the benchSomeone who builds thoughtfully — fast, but not sloppyBonus If You Have
Experience with motor control (brushed, brushless, or stepper)Exposure to power systems (battery management, power distribution, etc.)Python scripting for test automation or simple toolingFamiliarity with Git and documenting work for teammates
